About the Program

Established in 2010, EnVaNa Healthcare Training Center offers:

  • Basic Nursing Assistant Training Program
  • Phlebotomy Technician Program
  • EKG/ECG or Electrocardiogram Technician
  • Pharmacy Technician Program
  • ​Patient Care Technician Program

See below for the description of each program, its course objectives, and student requirements.

Student & Course Requirements for Basic Nursing Assistant (CNA), PHLEBOTOMY and EKG

Non-refundable Registration fee: $60.00 & completed Enrollment Form

  • Proof of High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • At least 16 years of age (parental consent required if under 18)
  • If currently a high school student, you must submit proof as a current student in good standing from school guidance counselor
  • Copy of social security card
  • Copy of government issued ID (driver's license, state ID, or passport)
  • Able to write, speak, and understand the English Language
  • Criminal Background Check (BNATP course only; $45.00 fee) done at school
  • Proof of Negative for TB test or Chest X-ray
  • Copy of Covid-19 vaccination record card
  • FLU shot ( during FLU season only. Month of September thru April)

For CNA only

  • Manual Blood Pressure Meter (BNATP course only; price varies per vendor)
  • Ceil Blue Uniform Scrubs (BNATP course only; price varies per vendor)

For Phlebotomy only

  • Hepatitis B vaccine & Tetanus shot (recommended but not required)



THE STUDENT IS RESPONSIBLE TO OBTAIN ALL REQUIRED MATERIALS & PAPERWORK FOR THE DURATION OF THE COURSE FOR PHLEBOTOMY, CNA AND EKG. DO NOT SUBMIT ANY ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS. DOCUMENTS WILL BECOME PROPERTY OF THE SCHOOL.

Certification by: Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Online registration to SIUC of $75.00 for the State Competency Exam

Nursing Assisting A Foundation in Caregiving 5th Edition

Vocational Objective and Instructional Areas:
The students will be learning the fundamentals of nursing care skills, the basic daily physical care, and the comfort needs of the client as directed by supervising licensed personnel. Students will understand the importance of the safety and security of clients, family, self, or others by observing safety precautions and promoting a sense of security and well-being. To increase the number of well-trained and dedicated individuals in the health care field through our learning principles. To maintain and disseminate information on vocational education. To develop a comprehensive and successful phlebotomy practice through highly skilled techniques, wide knowledge of the current healthcare environment, and a sympathetic approach to patients of all ages, backgrounds, and medical conditions. To achieve accurate knowledge and skills by the time of program course completion.

Instructional Areas:
Perform a minimum of 30 successful unaided venipuncture collections and 10 successful unaided capillary collections.
Instruction in various collection techniques, including vacuum collection, syringe, and capillary skin-puncture methods.

Qualified candidates will be scheduled to sit for the Competency Examination administered by the National Healthcareer Association and earn the title of Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT).
